Shaping Accessible and Inclusive Tourism in Ireland

Why your input matters

Everyone should have the opportunity to explore, enjoy, and fully engage in tourism experiences that are inclusive, welcoming, and accessible to all.

We're conducting a survey on behalf of Fáilte Ireland National Tourism Authority to understand how we can make tourism in Ireland more accessible and inclusive for all visitors.  This survey has been developed in consultation with a number of organisations representative of people who experience and benefit from accessible and inclusive services.  These organisations include:

Age Friendly Ireland

Voice of Vision Impaired

Independent Living Movement Ireland

AsIAm

Irish Wheelchair Association

Disabled Women Ireland

Inclusion Ireland

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme Limited

Age Action

LGBT Ireland

Headway Ireland

Disability Federation of Ireland

National Platform of Self Advocates

This project supports the goals and principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

We’d like to hear about your experiences of travelling in Ireland, including what has worked well for you and what challenges you may have experienced . If you use or benefit from accessible or inclusive services, your views are especially important.

What we mean by...

Accessible - Removing barriers so everyone can take part. This includes things like providing step‑free entrances, clear signs, captioned videos, assistive technology, and offering information or services in different formats.

Inclusive - Creating places where people feel safe, respected, and involved, offering services that recognise and include the diversity of everyone who visits.

How we use your data

Your responses will be used to help Fáilte Ireland and S3 Solutions better understand accessibility and inclusion within Ireland’s tourism sector. All information provided will be treated confidentially and analysed in an anonymised way, meaning no individual will be identified. The findings will be used for research and reporting purposes only, to help inform future planning, improvements, and decision-making around accessible and inclusive tourism
