Reflections on 2020, a year like no other!

What a year!

As we prepare to sign off for 2020, we’ve had the chance to reflect on what was easily the most chaotic of our 7 years as S3 Solutions.

We have always been inspired by the clients we work with across the 3rd sector and that was taken to new levels this year. We have nothing but admiration for the leadership shown and the amazing community and crisis responses to COVID-19, thankfully our team were able to support our clients to access vital funds to safeguard their organisation and support their communities. In total we assisted our clients to access more than £5m of public funds since April and we are extremely proud of that.

Our consulting team continued to deliver research, evaluations, strategic plans, feasibility studies and economic appraisals during lockdown – we have now counted more than 270 client zoom interviews since May and delivered some really impactful work.

We always knew we had a good team of people at S3, but this year proved we have the best. Our staff adapted so quickly, they carried out new roles, they went way above and beyond to support our clients and all with purpose and with a smile on their face. We don’t underestimate how tough it must have been for some working from home with young families, home schooling and managing their own wellbeing with reduced interaction - it underlined how lucky we are at S3 to have such a committed and passionate team. We are extremely grateful and would like to say thank you to the team for all of their effort and hard work.

Looking ahead to 2021, we have some new members joining the team and some big plans which we will share with you all early in the new year.

For now, we would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of our clients and colleagues that have worked with us during 2020, we really appreciate your continued faith in our company and look forward to working with you in 2021.

We’ll sign off by wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.
